Hand Quilting with the Thimblelady
Liuxin Newman, also known as the Thimblelady, will be staying on after QuiltWest to teach two workshops. As a quilter and silver/goldsmith, she designed and made her famous quilting thimble. She has subsequently improved the traditional rocking method of hand quilting and teaches an easy technique that involves no pricking the underneath finger nor upper thumb and no cramping of fingers. Liuxin teaches a pain free and quick way to hand quilt.
She has taught extensively in Australia and overseas and is a very enjoyable teacher, with lots of extra tips that she shares with her students during the class. She has thimbles available for use during the class, but will also have some for sale during the workshop. If you have any further questions, please contact Nancy at 9243 3050.
